The Magill-Rhoads Scholarship makes it possible for me to not only support an organization or institution of my choice financially, but also to educate my peers at Haverford about philanthropy and what it means "to give": to give time, energy, talent, and money. Remembering what it means to give is especially crucial in this time of economic hardship, and the Magill-Rhoads Scholarship helps me to remember how important the spirit of giving is and always will be.

Roger Lane Scholarship
My undergraduate academic experience had been an interdisciplinary, problem-solving centerd education. Haverford has given me the opportunity to truly appreciate the learning process and apply it to practical situations to create positive change. Words can’t express how thankful I am.

Stephen G. Cary Memorial Scholarship
I have been working my hardest to take advantage of all that Haverford offers, and I hope that one day I will be in a position to offer Haverford students the same kind of thoughtful assistance that I have received.

John B. Hurford Scholarship
At Haverford, I am reminded again and again how important it is to surround yourself with people (students, staff, faculty and alumni alike) whom you respect, whose opinions you value and who you can learn from and with. The John B. Hurford Scholarship has allowed me to meet such wonderful people while continuing my pursuit of economics. I look forward to the day when I am in a position to help a future Haverford student continue their education, surrounded by some of the finest people I’ve ever met.

I am from Sweden and am very happy to be here at Haverford. Without this scholarship I wouldn’t be able to attend this amazing school and benefit from the education and values they teach here.

I am grateful to have a chance to attend one of the best schools in the country. I understand how lucky I am and how great of an opportunity I have at my fingertips. I love this school and all it has provided me. I have felt myself grow since I was a freshman and hope to continue doing so in the time I have left at Haverford.

The Magill-Rhoads scholarship is a very unique one to receive. More important than acknowledging a certain kind of achievement prior to college, it allows us a hands-on opportunity to make a difference through philanthropy and encourages us to think of our future in terms of what we can give to others with whatever material well-being we have. It is both an honor and an acknowledgement of the social responsibility that comes with the opportunity to be here."

Tritton Family Scholarship
It is incredible to know that I attend an institution that cares so much about its students, enough to ensure that despite whatever financial obstacles may emerge, the students’ ability to continue studying as a member of the Haverford community is not jeopardized.

Gant Family Scholarship
I greatly appreciate the generosity of the Gant Family for its effort to make a Haverford education more accessible for me and my family. I am most thankful to have been considered for this honor. Without it, I would not be able to continue to pursue my studies at Haverford.

Charles Apel Robinson '28 Memorial Scholarship
When I was a junior in high school, I was chosen as one of seven Chinese students to come to the States for a one-year exchange study. It was a life-changing experience, because it was my first time abroad. I decided to apply to American colleges afterwards and was so grateful to be able to attend Haverford. I enjoy all of my classes, and the professors are simply amazing. This scholarship means a lot to me and my family in many ways.

William W. Ambler Scholarship
The generous financial aid I received was a large part of what allowed me to even consider coming to Haverford and to receive the quality of education I have found here. It is said that the admissions office is the gateway to higher education, but the gift of financial aid is what allows us to take advantage of that opportunity.

Mahalo Scholarship
Being at Haverford is the best thing that ever happened to me. The support of my scholarship donors inspires me to work harder to live up to the expectations of those concerned about my future.
