Leadership Gifts

The Leadership Gifts Division of Institutional Advancement seeks to establish, develop and enhance long-term philanthropic relationships with alumni, parents and friends of Haverford College. A primary goal of these relationships is the creation of major gifts (gifts and/or pledges of $25,000 more) in support of the College’s key fundraising initiatives and priorities. The leadership gifts staff coordinates their effort and collaborates closely with other I.A. departments and members of Haverford’s community, including faculty and staff, to develop appropriate and thoughtful strategies for soliciting prospective donors. The staff approaches donors primarily through personal visits, targeted cultivation events, and through our alumni volunteers (NGPC). In addition to soliciting new gifts, the major gifts office is also responsible for providing stewardship and recognition of past donors who have made major gift commitments to Haverford.
Originally from beautiful Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Lisa Piraino graduated from Haverford in 2004 with a major in history. In 2006 she completed her MSEd in higher education management at the University of Pennsylvania, while working in both the development and alumni relations offices. Before accepting her position with the Leadership Gift team, Lisa worked in Haverford’s Annual Giving office. Lisa lives in Philadelphia and enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants, and, most recently, learning to play tennis.
