The Libraries, which receive Annual Fund support, have launched a new initiative in partnership with the Dean's Office. The Personal Librarian Program assigns a librarian to all incoming Haverford students, so they have a personal, dedicated academic resource throughout all four years at the College. -
After Angelo Ngai ’13 received a call for papers for an academic conference from Professor of Sociology Mark Gould, he decided to submit his thesis, “Cultural Roots of the Rule of Law: Exploring the Possibility of a Confucian Legal Order.” In a rare turn of events for an undergrad, Ngai’s paper was accepted and the sociology department—which benefits from the Annual Fund—helped him get to Hong Kong to present his research at the conference in June. -
Every academic department and program at Haverford receives support from the Annual Fund. Two of those departments collided recently when Ben Walter ’13, a Classics major, teamed up with Emeritus Professor of Astronomy Bruce Partridge to edit scientific papers describing the findings of the Planck space telescope.

In a move designed to better integrate career planning with the larger academic experience, Haverford is reorganizing and expanding its career development effort through the creation of The Center for Career and Professional Advising, which receives Annual Fund support. The new office will be directed by Kelly Cleary, the College’s first dean for career and professional advising. -
The Annual Fund supports the Office of Admission, which sponsored its annual Open Campus Day in April, bringing more than 200 newly-admitted students and their families to Haverford.More > -
Haverford's Friend in Residence is sponsored by the Annual Fund-supported Quaker Affairs Office and President’s Office. The program brings gifted and experienced Quakers to campus for extended interactions with students, staff, faculty, and the community. Peterson Toscano, a gay theatrical performance activist, visited classrooms, student groups, and met with students individually.More >

Thanks to the Annual Fund, numerous repairs, renovations, and upgrades to campus facilities were made in spring 2013. -
Facilities Management, which benefits from the Annual Fund, made an important change in Founders Great Hall that will make better use of the College’s resources while reducing Haverford’s carbon footprint. -
The Annual Fund supports the Committee for Environmental Responsibility, which recently launched the campus-wide Green Office Program.
With support from the Annual Fund, Haverford's athletic teams are going farther and faster while bringing Haverford's values to the playing field.

The Faculty Liaison program increases communication and strengthens connections among student-athletes, coaches and faculty to maximize the potential for each student-athlete to reach his/her goal of excellence in both academic and athletic pursuits. Managed by the Athletic Department, which is supported in part by the Annual Fund, the program encourages offers flexible opportunities for faculty to get involved as volunteers.More > -
