La présence

An important part of your work, and consequently of your success, is your regular attendance. Likewise, being on time (class will begin at 8:35) is essential. A student who is often absent or late interferes with the work of other students who have taken their responsibilities to the class community more seriously.

More than 5 absences during the semester risks seriously compromising your success. You may even be dropped from the class (after consultation with your dean). Note that leaving early for break or Thanksgiving counts as unexcused absence, and you should take the Blue Bus schedule into account if you are coming from BMC.

You're of course allowed to miss class for illness or for athletic or academic commitments, but in that case, you won't be excused unless you contact M. Kight ahead of time or at the time of the absence.

Eating in class is frowned on, but you can bring things to drink. Make an effort to visit the bathroom before or after class and turn off your cell phones, please.
