Activities

Professor Joanna Augustyn has written two articles:

“L’Epopée décapitée: Jules Janin critique des Romantiques,” which will appear in Déclin et confins de l’épopée au XIXe siècle : sur le ‘vieillir’ d’une forme poétique. Edited by Saulo Neiva, Tübingen, Editions Gunter Narr, 2008; and “Les Lettres de septembre dans le Rhin de Victor Hugo,” which was published in Automne, the proceedings of a colloquium organized by the Centre de Recherche sur les Littératures Modernes et Contemporaines, Université de Blaise Pascal, Clermont-Ferrand II, October 2005. Presses Universitaires Blaise Pascal, 2007.

Additionally, she gave a paper titled "Love's Progress: Ovid, Science and Diderot" at the International Enlightenment Congress in Montpellier in July 2007 and will be giving another paper titled "Intertextual Consciousness: Les Voix intérieures of Victor Hugo" at the Society of Dix-Neuvièmistes conference at the University of Manchester in March 2008.

Professor Koffi Anyinefa attended the "Internationales Humboldt-Kolleg 2007" in Lomé, Togo (Dec. 4-8, 2007), and presented a paper on "Peace Corps Novels and Africa".  He will be giving another presentation, "Maltraitance de jeunes africaines: témoignages et médiation" at a conference on "Chilhoods in Francophone Africa and Latin America" at the Universität Bayreuth, Germany on March 1, 2008.
