You can afford Haverford.
Financial aid is available to students who need it as determined by a need-based allocation formula developed by the College. We are committed to ensuring that all of our qualified applicants can afford a Haverford College education. Our financial aid policy reflects a commitment to minimizing student debt upon graduation. Students with family income below $60,000/year will not have loans included in their financial aid package; loan levels for incomes above this line range from $1,500 - $3,000 each year.
Haverford has always sought to enroll the most qualified students regardless of their financial circumstances. Our need-blind admission policy means that an application for financial aid has no bearing on the admission decision for U.S. citizens and eligible non-citizens.
If you think you cannot afford Haverford College, please take time to read what follows and to raise questions with our Financial Aid or Admission staff. We are eager to help you. It is very important that you and your family understand all the procedures and policies of the financial aid program at Haverford. All of this information, including downloadable forms, is provided on this site. Haverford does not have a separate, institutional application for first time students.
