Research
Dr. Cichello's research focuses primarily on labor market outcomes in developing countries. His past research includes analysis of earnings mobility in South Africa, Nicaragua, and elsewhere; educational outcomes for fostered children (KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa), labor market outcomes and their relation to poverty reduction (Rwanda), hindrances to self-employment (Khayelitsha, South Africa), and education outcomes in post-conflict Sierra Leone and Rwanda. Dr. Cichello continues to be interested in these areas, particularly in the potential role of non-farm household enterprises in poverty reduction in Africa. He remains open to interdisciplinary research.
