My primary research interests address understanding the mechanistic links between a significant CNS injury and the subsequent development of epilepsy. In particular I am interested in the development of valid and reliable animal models to the study epileptogenesis, incorporating anatomical studies and behavioral monitoring techniques. Currently our focus has been on the immediate genomic changes that occur following an injury and their epileptogenic potential.
