Elizabeth Whalley
Visiting Assistant Professor of Fine Arts
Biography
Elizabeth Whalley is currently Visiting Assistant Professor teaching Foundation printmaking for the Spring 2009 semester. Based in painting, drawing, and printmaking, her work explores the intersection of these traditional media with experimental forms. She received her MFA from Brooklyn College as well as an Advanced Certificate in Performance and Interactive Media Arts. Recent group exhibitions include Pratt Prints, a printmaking exhibition in Brazil featuring the faculty of Pratt Institute. Her outdoor project, Brooklyn Plantwalk, that includes paintings of endangered plants of the Hudson River estuary, was part of the Conflux 2008 festival in New York. She lives and works in New York City and Morin Heights, Quebec. She is on the part-time faculty at Pratt Institute and Adelphi University where she teaches painting.
