The Newspaper War

The following set of linked pages is meant to illustrate how the war was fought at home, via reporting from the front and its censorship, and from the modes of propaganda that were practised with such zeal during the course of the war. Perhaps with student input and assistance, we can build a more adequate visual and literary record of how the war was represented at three different stages, early in 1914-15, in the terrible catastrophes of 1916-1917, and then toward its close in 1918.
