eKuality: Training

The initial round of training for Kuali was held during the last two weeks of June. This training, on our new chart of accounts, financial processing in Kuali and purchasing in Kuali will be offered again in late August/early September. One of these classes, the Introduction to Purchasing is also available on line in Moodle in a recorded version. The recording can be found at: https://moodle.haverford.edu/course/view.php?id=4376

You can simply login to Moodle using your normal login credentials and use the pass key of Fordview. You may be asked to download or update Silverlight in order to run the recording, which you should do. A new Kuali Training class called KFS Express is being offered the weeks of July 9 and July 16. This training is primarily intended for faculty and department heads who use a few common transactions in KFS (Approvals, Reports, Check Requests, Credit Card Reconciliations, and Document Searches). While intended for faculty and department heads, this class is open to any community members who need to use KFS for any of these activities. Additional sessions will be added in the beginning of the Fall Semester.

Online Tutorials

The eKuality Team has developed a series of online interactive tutorials for all Kuali users. These step by step lessons are designed to help you learn the Kuali Financial System (KFS) by guiding you through the processes you will need to complete work in KFS. These short tutorials also provide new users with some of the fundamentals you will need to effectively navigate the Kuali system and menu options, as well as instruction in how to do any transaction that might be needed in Kuali. These tutorials can be now be accessed from any computer (office or home).

The tutorials are organized in a logical way. When you select one of the purple books (KFS Basics, Data Entry Fundamentals, etc), you will be presented with a list of related links beneath it. When each link is selected, you will be presented with a few different buttons on the right side on your screen. Clicking the "Try it" link will take you to the interactive tutorial. "Print it" will take you to a printable version of the tutorial. The other options ("See It," "Know It" and "Do It") are not be utilized. Please use either Firefox, Chrome, or Safari to do the tutorials. When trying to enter a transaction in KFS, if you don't remember what to do from your training class, try running the appropriate tutorial as a refresher.

There is a separate sign-on required for the tutorials.
