The Coop: Staff
Geoffrey Labe
Coop Manager
Coop manager Geoff Labe, a native of Rochester, New York, first came to the Philadelphia area to attend Drexel University where he majored in information systems. Geoff started working nights at the Coop in 2004. Now, he can be seen managing the morning and afternoon shifts.
"The best part of my job is interacting with the students," says Geoff. He also enjoys the flexibility of the position and the open-mindedness of his co-workers. "There's a lot of room for new ideas to get heard," he adds, mentioning the new Saikou sushi bar that opened in the Coop in March as one of those ideas.
Geoff does not need to look too far for recreation when he gets some free time. He frequents the GIAC for workouts and also enjoys playing tennis on the Haverford courts when the weather cooperates.
Kevin Moore
The Coop's Kevin Moore was born just down the road in Philadelphia, where he attended Roxborough High School. After a stint at a Job Corps cooking school in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, Kevin came to work at Haverford in 1987. With the exception of one two year break, he has been working here ever since.
When it comes to cooking, Kevin does not have a specialty dish he likes to make for Coop patrons. "I like to challenge myself and experiment with all types of foods," he says. His favorite thing about working at the Coop, he says, is seeing customers sit down and enjoy their meals.
Marlon Jarvis
Coop cook Marlon Jarvis was born in Caracas, Venezuela, and went to school in Trinidad and Tobago before coming to work at Haverford in 2002.
About working at the Coop, Marlon says, "I love the environment, especially the students." Marlon's talents are not just limited to cooking. He likes to work out and enjoys playing soccer, basketball, and even cricket. Outside of working at the Coop during the day, Marlon keeps in tune with his musical interests as a DJ and promoter.
