From Our Office: Conference Funds
Application for funds for conferences on Civic Engagement and Intercultural Development
The Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) conference fund supports Haverford College community members who are working to develop regional and national networks of students who are focused on social justice and transformational practices in their institutions and home communities through conferences that are focused on issues of diversity in education, as well as on educational and public policy issues.
The OMA invites community members who are interested in facilitating civic engagement and/or intercultural development to use the following application form; in the Spring of 2013, applications will be reviewed on February 8 and March 22.
Students who are awarded funds will be required to submit a 1250 word reflection on their experiences that includes an action plan for fostering dialogues, projects, and other means of cultivating productive changes in the community that draw from the exchanges and ideas seeded at the conference.
If you have any questions, please contact Melissa Reyes at mreyes@haverford.edu or Theresa Tensuan at ttensuan@haverford.edu.
Please note that the OMA can fund up to $300 for successful applications.
