Welcome
to International Academic Programs
More than a change
of scenery...
Haverford College encourages
interested students to spend a semester or a year abroad as part
of their Haverford education. Ideally, study abroad should be more
than a pleasant change of academic scene; it should also be an opportunity
to expand and enrich the total course of study in ways not available
at the College. Study abroad can enhance language skills, increase
students' knowledge of other cultures, and provide academic and
personal challenges.
Students should begin
to consider study abroad as early as possible. Interested students
need to think about where they want to be, what they would like
to study, what language skills they have, and how study abroad will
fit into their Haverford College plans.
"Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry, but by demonstrating that all people
cry, laugh, eat, worry, and die, it can introduce the idea that if we try
and understand each other, we may even become friends."
