Short sections between the Latin passages for today.

Meditare:

Aeneas's entrance into the Underworld is punctuated by an invocation – not of the Muses – as during the opening of the Aeneid – but of the Underworld divinities, appropriate for the given situation but usually associated with deceit and falsehood. An interesting point to keep in mind when we look at the controversy over how Aeneas leaves the Underworld.
