The animation spans 0.6 fs (=6 x 10-16 s), during which time the electron moves about 3.5 nm, as shown on the bottom panel with the red. The top panel shows the wavefunction at a given point (x = 0.0 nm on the bottom graph) as a function of time. The wavelength is given by the deBroglie equation: λ = h/(mev), and is calculated to be 0.126 nm. |
