The LX Panel

Notice the button "Find a scan file" on the top-left part of the LX Panel (refer to the image below). Click the button and from the dialogue box that appears, find the Sample Data File (name.001) you downloaded along with the program.  It might be necessary to select "all files" in the "Files of types" box to be able to see the data file.  It is often desirable to average data from several different scans with filenames- name.001, name.002, name.003, etc.  As long as all the scan files to be averaged are in the same folder on your system, it doesn’t matter which file you select.

Although the data has been located by the LX Panel, it is not loaded into the program yet. To instruct the Panel to read the files, press the "Read scans w/ scan_wt>0" button on the top right corner of the LX Panel.

While scanning the information in the data files, EXAFS123 recognizes conventional notations (e.g. Io = Incident Energy, It = Transmission Energy). After reading the scans, the LX Panel is ready to plot the Graphs.
