Refining

 

It is evident that although the baseline resembles the data curve is some aspects; it still needs to undergo plenty of changes. EXAFS123 can "Refine" the curve based on the values inserted by the user and make the fit better. The user can ask for some values to be kept constant and some values to be altered. To let EXAFS123 refine the approximate values of slope and starting pts that we inserted, open the Table with Baseline Parameters. As we want to let the program change all the parameters, insert "1" in each of the boxes in the column "BL_e".

 

 

 

From the Main Panel, click on "Refine" so that EXAFS123 will find the best fit. The "refining" procedure might take some time depending on the nature of your data and the speed of your computer. Simply open the XAS + Baseline Graph to see the result of refining.

 

 

 

It can be seen that the curve is more fitted after "refining".
