Calibration

 

The energy scale might need to be corrected based on the calibration data (if in-line calibration data was obtained).  On the LX Panel, click on "Calibration Graph". From the drop down menu in the dialogue box that appears, select the option corresponding to the reference sample used. As KMnO₄ was used in the given experiment, "KMnO₄ powder with peak at 6543.3 eV" is selected.

 

 

After hitting Continue, the calibration graph is seen and on the lower left part of this window, you see the value of "Ecorr" which, for this experiment, is 1.21 eV. To "correct" the plot using this, simply check the box next to "Ecorr" on the LX Panel.
