The Whitehead Internship Program is funded by a Haverford alumnus, honoring John C. Whitehead '43, to encourage Haverford students, who have completed their junior or sophomore year, to engage in a summer work experience related to entrepreneurial endeavors, small business enterprise, venture capital or investment finance activities. The fund fosters hands on education and experience supporting interests in entrepreneurism. The intent is to provide appropriate stipends, and living expenses if necessary, for summer work experiences for which students might not otherwise receive the funding that their financial commitments require.
Each year an effort will be made by the College to secure commitment from several internship sponsors specifically for this program. The College will target its efforts to develop internships with Haverford alumni.
Students may apply to, and seek funding for, internships identified by the College OR other internship opportunities, to which they have applied or have secured, which relate to the focus of the Whitehead program.

The following is a list of some recent past College Secured Whitehead Internship sponsors. At the time of this posting, sponsors listed here have not made arrangements for internships for summer 2009 but, as past participants, we consider them to be potential sponsors. Other sponsors, not listed here, may also develop before the application deadline.
Students should be sure to check the Whitehead Internship Box in the Haverford office of Career Development or the designated "1 click 'Whitehead Internship Program 2009'" search option in the OCEAN internships database for up to date College Secured Whitehead Internship offerings. We expect to hear from sponsors throughout February.
