Tia DeNora is professor of sociology at Exeter University (UK). In her research, she investigates music's uses and powers in social life. She is the author of "After Adorno: Rethinking Music Sociology" (Cambridge 2003), "Music in Everyday Life" (Cambridge 2000), and "Beethoven and the Social Construction of Genius" (University of California Press 1995.)
