This week- Witness to Hunger: Living on Welfare in Philadelphia
Friday, December 5, 2008 from 12:30-1:30pm in the CPGC Cafe (Stokes 104).
Join us for a follow-up to the "Witness to Hunger" Panel Discussion (this Wednesday from 7:30-9pm in Stokes Auditorium). We'll have an opportunity to discuss the following: Does welfare provide enough to live on? Why do so many people rely on welfare for years? Why isn't welfare-to-work working? Are there really "welfare queens"? Why are these women having so many children? How does welfare policy affect health? How do we break the cycle of poverty and welfare?
Our guest facilitator will be Jenny Rabinowich '08, one of CPGC's current Haverford House fellows, working at Project GROW at Drexel University's School of Public Health.
