All faculty, staff, students and community members are invited by the CPGC, the Office of Multi-cultural Affairs and the Student Activities Office for weekly, informal conversations about current events and happenings on campus, in our region and around the world. Tasty (and free!) lunch is provided. Fridays from 12:30-1:30pm in the CPGC Cafe.
This week: Race in America: Creating New Possibilities
Friday, November 14 from 12:30pm-1:30pm in the CPGC Cafe (Stokes 104).
What might we each personally need to "own" or make amends from our past in order to create a new future? What might we each need to forgive regarding racism in order to create a new possibility? What vision or possibility regarding race excites and motivates you? What personal stand are we willing to take to realize our vision?
Our guest facilitator will be Dr. Amanda Kemp, Research Associate at Franklin & Marshall College, and lifelong advocate and organizer of movements for racial justice and equality. Dr. Kemp is the founder of Theatre for Transformation, a nascent non-profit organization and performance technology that weaves yoga, reiki, waiting, worship, ritual, and theatre to promote forgiveness, abundance, and peace.
