This performance comes as part of an extended Campus visit by Dr. Amanda Kemp.
"Show Me the Franklins" offers a fresh perspective on Benjamin Franklin, who died as president of the abolitionist society without ever freeing one of his own slaves, and challenges all of us to consider how historical scholarship intersects with social justice.
The performance comes as part of an extended Campus visit by Dr. Amanda Kemp: "Remembering Ancestors, Slavery, and Benjamin Franklin."
A lifelong advocate and organizer of movements for racial justice and equality, Dr. Amanda Kemp is the founder of Theatre for Transformation, a nascent non-profit organization and performance technology that weaves yoga, reiki, waiting, worship, ritual, and theatre to promote forgiveness, abundance, and peace.
