A visitor for Honglan Huang's Student Seminar "Text, Image, and Beyond: the Architecture of Book Space," David Wiesner will give an informal a talk, "Storytelling Without Words" at 4:30 pm in Stokes 102, followed by an informal reception in James House.
David Wiesner is a three time Caldecott Medal winner for Tuesday (1992), The Three Pigs (2002) and Flotsam (2006). He also holds the Japan Picture Book Award (Tuesday), the French Prix Sorci´eres (The Three Pigs) and a New York Times Best Illustraed award for Flotsam. Wiesner was the US nominee and a finalist for the 2008 Hans Christian Andersen Award. Recently he has taught at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art.
