The Department of Psychology in conjunction with the Distinguished Visitors Program presents a talk by clinical psychologist Mary Anne Layden, PhD, Director of Education and Director of the Sexual Trauma and Psychopathology Program at the Center for Cognitive Therapy at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Layden specializes in the treatment of sexual violence victims and perpetrators, sex addicts, and those engaged in the sexual exploitation industry. Her talk will address how the proliferation of all forms of the sexual exploitation industry (Internet pornography, strip clubs, prostitution, etc.) has pornified the culture. Research has exposed many significant negative consequences for adults and children of this pornification. This talk will examine the scope of the problem and identify solutions.
