A reception to welcome faculty back from the summer, to introduce Andy Cornell Mellon Postdoc Fellow and Visiting Professor of American Studies (Independent College Programs, and to celebrate our 2013 Hurford Fellows (Student Seminar Leaders)
Andrew Cornell, Hurford Center's Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow for 2013-15
The Hurford Center kicks off the new academic year with its annual reception—a time to visit with friends, meet newcomers, and pick up information on Faculty opportunities for 2013-14.
We will introduce our Mellon Fellow for 2013-15, Andrew Cornell, who is part of Craig Borowiak's Faculty Seminar, The Anarchist Tradition, Revisited. Participating in the seminar with Andy are Imke Brust (German), Aurelia Gómez (Spanish), Indradeep Ghosh (Economics), Barak Mendelsohn (Political Science), and Christina Zwarg (Engish). Andy holds degrees in American Studies from the University of Michigan and NYU and comes to us from Williams College.
We also celebrate Leaders of our 2013 Student Seminars – Honglan Huang ’16 (Text, Image and Beyond: the Architecture of Book Space), Joshua Bucheister ’14 and Aaron Madow ’14 (How We Talk About the Holocaust) and Dan Wriggins ’14 and Alex Jacobs ’14 (The Depths of Fear: Cross-Cultural Consciousness of Sea Monsters in Folklore, Mythology, and Popular Culture — our 2013 Hurford Fellows.
