Movements of peasants, and victims of human rights violations like "Via Campesina", "Sin Tierra" o "Zonas de Biodiversidad en Espacios Humanitarios" flourish nowadays bringing together the need to recover their rights around community wellbeing, land property and healthy food, and the fight against the exploitation of corporations killing nature and displacing millions of people around the world.
This workshop will present (1) the basic principles, and some of the historical motives guiding these organizations, (2) a comparative analysis with some students and migrants movements around food in the US, and (3) examples and team work around some recent local and international examples.
