Keith Gremban, DARPA Strategic Technology Office, at Villanova University, Mendel Science Center 115
The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) was established in 1958 to prevent strategic surprise from negatively impacting U.S. national security and create strategic surprise for U.S. adversaries by maintaining the technological superiority of the U.S. military. DARPA has a legacy of success that has significantly changed the world we live in, such as GPS and the internet, just to mention a few examples. In this talk, I will provide an overview of DARPA and it's contributions to science and technology, and go into more detail on DARPA's contribution to driverless cars, and current work on content-based networking.
