Dean Karlan, Professor of Economic, Yale University, Founder of Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA) and author of More than Good Intentions: How a New Economics is Helping to Solve Global Poverty will be visiting campus and speaking at a Breakfast Event to be held 11 April at 9:30am.
Come and hear how "Field Experiments" using the techniques of randomized control trials are being used to increase our understanding of how people make decisions and how this information can be used to design better products to help solve problems associated with poverty (microcredit, bednets, savings, immunization programs, etc.). Dean is seeking to inspire students to engage in research driven work to address poverty with his campus-based Proven Impact Initiative.
