In the flipped classroom, the typical lecture and homework elements of a course are reversed. Your students review lectures or other instructive materials before class and work on homework assignments & projects during the class. Professor Liz McCormack (physics at Bryn Mawr College) has been experimenting with flipped learning this semester ... instead of lecturing to introduce new content, she had students get material from readings with the help of podcast reading guides. They then worked on problems and addressed questions during class. She'll report on what she learned about this approach--what worked well, what didn't work so well, and plans for the next time she teaches the course.
