Howard Zehr, a trailblazer in the Restorative Justice movement from the 1970s through the present, will join members of the Haverford Community for a breakfast conversation on the intricacies of restorative justice.
Description
Dr. Zehr is currently a Distinguished Professor with the Center for Justice and Peacebuilding at Eastern Mennonite University. Restorative justice is an approach to crime that focuses on the harms caused, accountability, and the needs of both victims and offenders.
The breakfast will be an informal discussion, guided by the questions and issues brought to the table by those who attend. Topics will include what it means to implement value-based practice, the obstacles restorative justice faces, and what restorative justice could look like on a larger scale, among others.
