The Center for Peace and Global Citizenship cordially invites you to join us for lunch and to engage in an informal discussion with James H. Sweet, Professor of History at the University of Wisconsin-Madison about his research and teaching interests, as well as his thoughts on reconfiguring area studies programs (such as Latin American and Iberian Studies and Africana Studies) in light of the transnational emphasis of recent scholarship. James H. Sweet is the author of two prize-winning books on the history of the African diaspora in the Atlantic world. This event is sponsored by: The Distinguished Visitors' Fund, the History Department, and the Concentrations in Latin American and Iberian Studies and Africana Studies.
