September 23, 12:00AM–12:00AM
Haverford College Center for Peace & Global Citizenship and 8th Dimension are co-sponsoring a service learning trip in partnership with High Rocks, an award winning leadership development program based in Pocahontas County, West Virginia.
High Rocks educates, empowers and inspires girls, giving them the confidence to lead active lives and work towards the long-term betterment of the community.
Hannah Brower’13, who interned this summer with High Rocks, will lead this service learning trip, available to between six and eight Bi-Co students (all class years and genders are eligible). The projects will involve working with girls in after school programs, learning about social, political and economic issues impacting their communities, lending a hand with physical projects and experiencing Appalachia!
For more information about the application process, contact Janice Lion at Haverford College’s Center for Peace and Global Citizenship (firstname.lastname@example.org). For more information about High Rocks and the service learning trip, contact Hannah Brower’13 (hbrower@hc).
