Description
Fourth Day Meeting is deeply rooted in Haverford's Quaker heritage and seeks to create a welcoming space where our shared values of "trust, concern and respect” are alive and well.
In keeping with worship in the manner of Friends, Fourth Day Meeting involves 30 minutes of unprogrammed silence, during which anyone who may feel led to speak can share a message with the group gathered. We show respect in the silence by being fully open to what is offered, without discussion or debate, and by allowing there to be time in between messages for reflection.
Fourth Day Meeting will convene throughout the academic year on a weekly basis on Wednesdays, from 10:00 – 10:30 a.m. in the Multicultural Center (Stokes 106). If you have any questions, please contact Walter Hjelt Sullivan, Director of Quaker Affairs, at wsulliva@haverford.edu.
All are welcome, and we hope to see you there!
