Description
The Dish blogger, journalist, and author Andrew Sullivan is a popular source for provocative, astute political and social commentary. NPR called him "one of the most widely read, influential and prolific political voices online." A Newsweek and Daily Beast contributor, Sullivan was one of the first journalists to experiment with blogging. He now writes 250 to 300 posts per week for The Dish that include his incisive analysis and observations about politics, socio-cultural issues, foreign affairs, and religion reaching some 1.3 million subscribers. Sullivan has written extensively on a wide range of topics, including the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, civil liberties, Middle Eastern uprisings, human rights and gay marriage, the future of media, and liberal versus conservative political ideologies. A practicing Catholic, he has challenged the Church's position on gay life. Known for his sharp debating skills, Sullivan is a regular panelist on The Chris Matthews Show and Real Time with Bill Maher.
Please join Student’s Council Speaker’s Committee for an enlightening evening with one of the most influential and controversial figures in American political and cultural discourse.
