"Healing the Heart and Mind: Mindfulness for Caregivers"

Description
Dr. Michael Baime, professor of medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, will give a talk about his work in educating doctors and other caregivers in the practice of mindfulness so that they can use it in a clinical setting. The Penn Program for Mindfulness, led by Dr. Baime, has taught more than 5,000 individuals to use mindfulness-based tools to live in ways that help them to manage stress, cope with change, enhance communication and cultivate personal and professional growth. The center adapts traditional meditation-based techniques and makes them practical, easy to learn, and relevant to modern life.
About the "Manage Your Mind" Events:
Through a series of lectures and workshops, we will offer a variety of perspectives on mindfulness meditation, emphasizing its essential role in stress-management and emotional wellbeing, as well as examining it in the context of neuroscience, disease treatment, and ancient contemplative traditions. Sponsored by Students Council and Counseling & Psychological Services.
