Description
An Evening with Independent Animators Paul & Sandra Fierlinger & Software Developer Fabrice Debarge of TVPaint, France
Tuesday, March 13th 4:15 pm, Stokes 102 Organized by Jon Appel ‘12 through the Student Arts Fund, John B. Hurford ‘60 Center for the Arts and Humanities Including a special 1 hour screening of the Fierlinger’s current work in progress, “Slocum a man at sea with himself.” Our guests will discuss what today’s animators need to know about using the Internet for generating income and how choosing the right software contributes to a project’s success. Fabrice Debarge has instructed and installed TVPaint in many schools around the world, including Gobelins (France), CalArts (California) and Geidai (Japan) The Fierlingers have held numerous master classes coast to coast and around the world, including major Animation and Documentary Film Festivals & educational institutions… The Student Arts Fund is a resource for students to pursue creative projects. I am making an animated film for my thesis and thanks to The Student Arts Fund, Haverford is now equipped with TVPaint software and a digital drawing tablet, which are the only materials necessary to produce a feature length animated film, such as the FIerlingers' "Slocum." This is very exciting and accessible technology for anyone interested in drawing or animation. -Jon Appel
