STRANGE TRUTH DOCUMENTARY FILM SERIES PRESENTS: Sneak Preview of STRONG! (2012)
Screening & Conversation with Filmmaker Julie Wyman and Olympic Weightlifter Cheryl Haworth
Wednesday, March 21st, 2012
7:30 p.m. Sharpless Auditorium, KINSC Haverford College
STRONG! chronicles an Olympic athlete’s struggle to defend her champion status. Cheryl Haworth defies categories. America’s top weightlifter since age 14, this 300-pound, 3-time Olympic athlete is an elite at the international level. But Haworth doesn’t easily fit into standard clothing sizes, chairs or preconceptions. STRONG! follows Haworth from the highs of her spectacular rise through the lows of battling injuries, from her struggle to defend her champion status to the struggle of having a body type that is celebrated within her sport but shunned by mainstream culture. Please join us for these special events with Julie Wyman and Cheryl Haworth:
1. Class presentation by Julie Wyman in Vicky Funari's Documentary Video Production class Wednesday March 21, 2:45pm, Stokes 102.
2. Weightlifting workshop with Cheryl Haworth and Cory Walts, Haverford's Strength and Conditioning Coach Thursday March 22, 8:00am, Arn and Nancy Tellem Fitness Center, GIAC.
3. Lunchtime conversation with Cheryl Haworth, Julie Wyman,

The Cantor Fitzgerald Gallery will serve as the arena for the tournament, which begins March 16th and ends April 20th. Only at the end of the show will its title, And the Winner Is..., be complete.
