Stokes Multicultural Center
Fourth Day Meeting involves 30 minutes of unprogrammed silence in which Haverford community members can come together to be grounded and centered. All are welcome!
Description
Fourth Day Meeting is deeply rooted in Haverford's Quaker tradition and seeks to create a welcoming space where our shared values of "trust, concern and respect” are alive and well.
In keeping with the manner of Quaker meetings, Fourth Day Meeting involves 30 minutes of unprogrammed silence, during which anyone who may feel led to speak can share a message with the group gathered. We show respect in the silence by being fully open to what is offered, without discussion or debate, and by allowing there to be time in between messages for reflection.
Fourth Day Meeting convenes throughout the academic year on Wednesdays from 10:00 - 10:30am in the Multicultural Center (Stokes 106). All are welcome!
