The BMC Civic Engagement Office and the HC Center for Peace and Global Citizenship will offer the Effective Grantsmanship Seminar during the fall 2011 semester. The seminar will be taught by Dr. Margie Dubrow and Dr. Andrea Taylor, two professional grant writers.
Through this 23 hour seminar series, BMC and HC sophomores, juniors and seniors will learn how to:
- Write a solid action plan before developing a grant proposal
- Research potential funding sources
- Identify & collect information that is needed for a successful grant
- Write a successful proposal
In addition students will work directly with a local community based organization on a grant project, and will be expected to spend 12 hours working on that project over the course of the semester. View the seminar timeline>
Please be aware that some of the seminar sessions take place during Fall Break; the others take place on Saturdays or Thursday evenings September through early December. Students must commit in advance to complete the whole series.
Student applications are available from the Civic Engagement Office website. Applications will be due on Monday, September 12, 9am.
