The 20th Annual Roland Altherr Memorial Symposium in Philosophy. This year's distinguished visitor will be Hubert Dreyfus, Professor of Philosophy in the Graduate School at University of California.

Description
This year's distinguished visitor will be Hubert Dreyfus, Professor of Philosophy in the Graduate School at University of California. Professor Dreyfus will speak on "Rationality and Emodied Coping: McDowell's Myth of the Pervasiveness of the Mental."
A reception will follow the talk on the second floor lounge of Gest Center.
Hubert Dreyfus is Professor of Philosophy in the Graduate School at the University of California, Berkeley. After receiving his Ph.D. from Harvard University, he taught at MIT, before going to Berkeley in l968. Dreyfus has been a Guggenheim Fellow, and has received research grants from both the National Science Foundation and the National Endowment for the Humanities. He holds a Doctorate Honoris Causa from Erasmus University, Rotterdam, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
