DC Bryn Mawr Room
A conversation between Joe Volk and Aaron Levy.
Joe Volk recently retired as executive secretary of the Friends Committee on National Legislation, the Quaker lobby in Washington, DC. In this capacity he represented Quaker concerns for peace, social justice and an earth restored in the halls of Congress. He is currently serving as Friend-in-Residence at Haverford College. Mr. Volk is uniquely qualified to speak on both the theory of peace espoused by activists and the realities faced by policymakers and diplomats working to eliminate the threat of war. As part of the ongoing Perpetual Peace Project, he will share his insights on bridging this gap based on his 20+ years of experience advocating for peace on Capitol Hill. All members of the Haverford community are encouraged to bring their lunch to what promises to be a stimulating conversation.
