Join Professor Outlaw for lunch as he brings unique experience and insight on Haverford’s recent history, as well as his scholarly expertise, to a Community Conversations with faculty, staff, and students. Topics of discussion include: Are we a more inclusive community today than we were 10 years ago? What work remains to be done to make this the most inclusive, multicultural community possible? How do goals of multiculturalism and social justice movements intersect or diverge?

Join us for a week dedicated to honoring Dr. King’s legacy and promoting dialogue about civil rights. This year’s theme is MLK In the Age of Obama. What is Dr. King’s relevance today? Are we truly in a post-racial society? How do issues of race, diversity, multiculturalism, and civil rights play out in our nation with our new President Obama? What about on Haverford’s campus?
