Mellon Post-Doctoral Fellow Candidate Talk
Farid Azfar received his Ph.D. in History from Brown University and his Master of Arts degree in Geography from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. His research focuses on the issue of sexual shame in England during the Enlightenment, combining his explorations into the history of early modern sexualities and the history of the Enlightenment. In the last year and a half Azfar has been revising his dissertation for publication as a book, as well as beginning a second book project, Sex, Shame, and the Politics of Enlightenment England, 1700-1750. He is currently serving his second year as a Visiting Assistant Professor of History at Scripps College in Claremont, CA.
