On Monday, November 2nd at 4:15 PM, the Department of Music presents Music & Conversation with Costa Rican composer Alejandro Cardona in MacCrate Recital Hall, Union Building. This event is free and open to the public.

On Monday, November 2nd at 4:15 PM, the Department of Music will present Alejandro Cardona in MacCrate Recital Hall, Union Music Building. One of Latin America's most prolific and highly recognized composers, Cardona will be focusing on his string quartets, particularly String Quartet No. 4 and its connection with the photographs of Mexican Juan Rulfo. Showing of the DVD which coordinates the performance of the music by the renowned Cuarteto Latino-americano with the visual display of Rulfo's images will be the featured event. Cardona will also speak about his work in vernacular idioms, discussing his research into Afro-Caribbean music and ritual, and his performance as a guitarist with the blues band "Calacas Blues" of which he is leader and founder.
