Presented by the CPGC and Project for Nuclear Awareness
Join Ian Ramsey North '09, and Ed Aguilar, Executive Director of Project for Nuclear Awareness, a Philadelphia-based not-for-profit organization working to abolish nuclear weapons world-wide, for a presentation of immediate steps we can take to make the world safer and more secure and ultimately eradicate the global nuclear arsenal. Beginning with a crash course on nuclear weapons and concluding with a discussion of how Haverford students can get involved and make a difference in the cause of nuclear disarmament, “The Global Path to Zero” will provide you with everything you need to make an informed decision about the threat of nuclear weapons and what you can do about them. Come just to learn or to help mobilize the movement for a nuclear weapons-free world.
About Project for Nuclear Awareness: Since its founding in 2006, Project for Nuclear Awareness (PNA) has established itself as an effective and versatile advocate for nuclear disarmament. PNA has worked with both government actors and civil society groups to advance understanding and awareness of the imperative for nuclear non-proliferation and disarmament. Our programs and events aim to affect a decided shift in public opinion as well as a shift in the U.S. Congress toward support for the abolition of nuclear weapons world-wide. PNA targets a wide array of constituents, ranging from high school students to U.S. Senators. The end result of PNA’s vision, diverse staff, and adaptive methods is a set of initiatives and projects, ranging from national level conferences to art exhibitions to international youth dialogues, that approach the issue from a variety of new perspectives.
