Mission Statement
The Haverford Journal presents compelling academic writing by the students of Haverford College. The Journal, our flagship publication, documents the strongest student scholarship in the Humanities and Social Sciences, while the para-curricular J.5 commissions diverse student essays and articles based on cultural themes. Both publications take as their goal the co-mingling of the scholarly and the social, bringing sharp student writing into public discourse at the college and beyond. By creating a space for dialogue across the disciplines, the editorial board hopes to promote collaborative student engagement in the liberal arts.
