Computer/Video Projector Directions
Sharp XG-P10XU projector
Section One: Using your
own laptop computer.
1.
Lower
the projection screen. The control
switch is on the wall to left of the screen.
2.
Connect
your laptop to the projector using the Computer Video cable (located in the cabinet at the rear of the room). Connect one end to your laptop’s video output
and the other end to the wall plate at the front of the room. The proper input is labeled “Projector”.
3.
If
you need network access connect one end of the Ethernet cable (located in the cabinet at the rear of the room, if
you do not have your own) to the network jack on your laptop and the other end
to the Ethernet jack on the wall. The
active wall jack is typically marked with a little round red sticker.
4.
If
you need sound from your laptop to
come out of the room’s speakers, connect the mini-plug on one end of the video
cable to the speaker output jack on your laptop and connect the other end to
the audio jack just below the “Projector” input on the wall plate. Also turn on the “MAIN POWER” switch in the
cabinet at the rear of the room. This
turns on the audio amplifier.
5.
Turn on the projector by pressing the “PROJECTOR ON” button ONCE
on the “Projector Control” plate located on the wall. WAIT until the GREEN warm-up light is
illuminated before proceeding.
6.
On
the “Projector Control” plate press the “LAPTOP” input.
7. Turn on your laptop computer.
8.
You
may have to adjust your laptop’s settings to get the image onto the projector.
On a PC use the FUNCTION-F3 or FUNCTION-F8 combo (look for a little TV screen
or “display” on the function keys). On a
MAC laptop you may have to turn on video mirroring in the control strip.
9.
Adjust
the sound volume with the “VOLUME” controls on the “Projector Control” plate.
Section Two: Showing a VIDEO.
1.
Follow
steps # 1 and 5 in Section One.
2.
Turn
on the “MAIN POWER” switch in the cabinet at the rear of the room. This turns on the audio amplifier.
3.
On
the “Projector Control” plate press the “VCR” input.
4.
Turn
on the VCR and insert your tape.
5.
The
remote for the VCR is in the cabinet drawer.
6. Adjust the sound volume with the “VOLUME” controls on the “Projector Control” plate.
Section Three: Showing a DVD.
7.
Follow
steps # 1 and 5 in Section One.
8.
Turn
on the “MAIN POWER” switch in the cabinet at the rear of the room. This turns on the audio amplifier.
9.
On
the “Projector Control” plate press the “DVD” input.
10. Turn on the DVD and insert your disk.
11. The remote for the DVD player is in the
cabinet drawer.
12. Adjust the sound volume with the “VOLUME” controls on the “Projector Control” plate.
Section Four: Turning off (very important)
1.
Press
the “PROJECTOR OFF” button ONCE on the “Projector Control” plate located on the
wall.
2.
Turn
off the “MAIN POWER” switch in the cabinet at the rear of the room. This turns off the audio amplifier
3.
Raise
the projection screen.
4.
Return
all cables and remotes to the cabinet drawer and lock the cabinet.
