Data/Video Projector Directions
1.
Open
the equipment cabinet at rear of room.
2.
Turn
on “Main Power’ switch at top left of equipment rack.
3.
Get
the projector remote control out of the drawer in the bottom of the equipment
rack.
4.
Lower
the projection screen using the switch below the chalkboard.
5.
Turn
on the projector: Aim the remote control at the projection booth and press the
“Standby/On” button ONCE.
For Computer projection:
1.
On
the projector remote push the “RGB” button until ___________ appears on the
screen.
2.
Connect
your laptop to the projector using the monitor
cable (located in the cabinet drawer at the rear of the room). Connect one end to your laptop’s video output
and the other end to the wall-plate at the front of the room below the chalkboard. The proper wall-plate input is labeled
“Projector”.
3.
If
you need sound from your laptop to
come out of the room’s speakers, connect the mini-plug on one end of the
monitor cable to the speaker output jack on your laptop. Connect the other end to the audio jack just
to the left the “Projector” input on the wall-plate. Adjust the volume on your laptop and/or with
the volume control located on the equipment rack at the rear of the room.
4.
If
you need network access connect one end of the Ethernet cable (located in the cabinet at the rear of the room, if
you do not have your own) to the network jack on your laptop and the other end
to the Ethernet jack below the chalkboard.
The active wall jack is typically marked with a little round red
sticker.
5.
Turn
on your laptop computer. You may have to adjust your laptop’s settings to get
the image onto the projector. On a PC use a FUNCTION-F key combo (look for a
little TV screen, “LCD” or “Display” on the function keys) to enable the
external computer image. On a MAC laptop
you may have to turn on video mirroring in the control strip.
For Video projection:
1.
On
the projector remote push the “VIDEO” button until ___________ appears on the
screen.
2.
Turn
on the VCR power. The VCR is located in
the cabinet at the rear of room
3.
Insert
your tape into the VCR. Push “Play” on
the VCR.
4.
Adjust
the volume with the volume control located on the equipment rack at the rear of
the room.
5.
The
remote control for the VCR is located in the drawer in the bottom of the
equipment rack.
When you are done:
1.
Turn
off the projector using the projector remote.
You have to depress and hold the “Standby/On” button down for about 2-3
seconds. Raise the projection screen.
2.
Return
the remotes and/or cables to the equipment rack drawer.
3.
Lock
the cabinet
